Get Well Concert!

On Saturday we went to visit my grandaddy aka Zachary's great-grandaddy. He had been in the hospital for a couple of days due to heart issues. He is doing much better now and we want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers. He was excited to see Zachary and watch him play the piano. That is Zachary's favorite thing to do at their house.

Welcome Home Lucy!

Later on that day Zachary helped Nanny pick out a puppy to adopt for their house. They have always had more than one Golden at a time and knew that their four year Golden, "Emma", would be much happier with a playmate. "Welcome Home Lucy"!

Zachary's 1st Dentist Appointment!

Zachary had his first dentist appointment today. I took him to the dentist because six months ago he fell and hit his mouth on our coffee table. He hit the table so hard that his mouth, nose and gums were swollen for a couple of weeks. I didn't think anything else about it until yesterday when I noticed his tooth had a grey tint. I took him to the dentist to have them look at it to see what was wrong. They said that the nerve to that tooth is starting to die and that is why it is turning grey. Well Zachary loved the dentist and he had so much fun playing with all the equipment that he didn't want to leave!

Festival In The Park

On Saturday Jeremy and I took Zachary to Festival In The Park which is held at Freedom Park in Charlotte. The first thing we did was ride the train which of course is always Zachary's favorite thing to do. After the train ride we walked to the art and jewelery booths. We found a booth that did face painting so we took Zachary to get a "tattoo" on his face. He picked Blues Clues which looked so cute on his little cheek. Then we took him to see "Gus The Bus" which brought back memories for Jeremy and I. This was the first bus that Zachary has actually been able to go on! After "Gus The Bus" we went to see the clowns and we weren't sure if he was going to like them or be scared. Well he wasn't scared but he looked a little puzzled!

Skippin' Rocks On The River...

Well actually a pond but I thought it was a cute title. Today Jennifer and I took the kids to Squirrel Lake Park in Matthews to have a picnic. It was such a beautiful day for an outside lunch. After we ate we took a walk down to the pond so the kids could see the water. They had such a great time throwing rocks in the water, but Jennifer and I were scared that one of the them was going to fall in, luckily for us that didn't happen. Thanks for a great picnic girls!

Bubblicious!

Now that the weather is finally cooling off Zachary is wanting to play outside more. Today after we got home from preschool we invited Ashley and Madison to come over and play. The kids loved being outside playing with the sidewalk chalk and in the sandbox, but I think their favorite was blowing the bubbles. What a beautiful day for it. The wind was blowing so it made the bubbles fly all around. We are definitely ready for fall so we can be outside a lot more!

First Day of Preschool!

Today was Zachary's first day of preschool. He goes to Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Matthews. Before we left this morning he was sitting at the door with Sophie watching a school bus drive by. He said, "Mommy, I ride the school bus?" He didn't understand why he had to ride in Mommy's van and not the bus. When we got to school he was excited and he went right in his room and started playing. He really likes his class and his teacher's Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Mary. He is also happy that he is in the same class as Ashley and Madison, unfortunately this will be the only year that he will be in their class. I think he is going to have a great year!

Matthews Alive! (click pictures to make bigger)

Every Labor Day weekend we go to a festival called "Matthews Alive". It is held in downtown Matthews. At the festival there is a little bit of everything, rides, food and crafts. Friday night we took Zachary so he could ride the rides. Angie, Keith's fiance, met us there with her boys Austin and Owen. Last year Zachary's favorite ride was the Merry-Go-Round, but this year it was riding the cars.

Saturday morning Zachary and I met Nanny,Poppy and Uncle Rudy for the "Matthews Alive Parade". Zachary didn't like all the loud noises, he kept saying, "I go home and nap!" After about fifteen minutes we decided to leave and head towards the crafts.

Before leaving for the day we knew there were only two things left that we had to let Zachary do. First, we had to let him ride the ponies and then ride "The Little Blue Choo" train. The pony that Zachary picked to ride looked the most like him. He called his pony "Lucy". After the pony ride, Zachary and Poppy (whistle in hand) rode the train. Zachary had such a fun day! He was so exhausted when it was all over!
